Jivaka Weeratunge
VP of Finance
Jivaka is a seasoned financial executive with over 25 years experience in management, consultancy and finance. Prior to joining WSO2, Jivaka was at Strategic Consulting where he was a joint Founder/ Managing Director, and was CEO of Capital Suisse Asia where he established the joint venture company and formulated and implemented the corporate strategy. His portfolio consisted of mainly long-term strategic investments of mini-hydro power and information technology, including Sri Lanka's premier ISP Lanka Internet.
He has also served as director for various institutions including the Colombo Stock Exchange, Forbes Financial Services, C K N Fund Management and as a non executive director for Central Finance, B P de Silva, Mahawali Marine Cement, Harischandra Mills and Ceramic Corporation.
Jivaka has an M.Sc. in Business Studies from the University of London and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Accountants, Sri Lanka. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute on Management Accountants, UK. In 1984 Jivaka was awarded the Mason Fellowship to the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
