Katie Poplin
Director, Marketing
Katie Poplin joined WSO2 in 2008, bringing with her extensive experience as a marketer of Professional Open Source. She most recently worked with XAware, an open source data integration company, as Senior Director of Marketing and Community Development. There she helped drive brand awareness and product adoption as XAware shifted to an open source business model.
Prior to that, Katie was responsible for global marketing programs for the JBoss middleware business unit at Red Hat, where she developed awareness and demand generation programs for regional execution. Katie came to Red Hat by way of the acquisition of JBoss in 2006. She was one of the early employees of JBoss, joining in 2003 and helping to grow the company by designing marketing programs to convert free users to paying subscribers.
Before coming to open source, Katie was in regional sales at TIBCO, an enterprise application integration and SOA company.
Katie graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill with B.A. degrees in both History and Political Science, and is an avid Tar Heel fan.
