Version 1.0 of the most comprehensive C library for Web services out now!

WSO2 Web Services Framework for C (WSF/C) is a standards compliant, enterprise grade, open source library for providing and consuming Web services in C. It is a complete solution with the widest range of WS-* specification implementations including

  • MTOM
  • WS-Addressing
  • WS-Policy
  • WS-Security
  • WS-SecurityPolicy
  • WS-Reliable Messaging
  • WS-eventing.

Version 1.0 was released this week together with SSL support, XMPP support and a “wsclient” command line tool, enabling you to use WSF/C for enterprise grade applications.

WSO2 WSF/C has been fully tested for interoperability with Microsoft .NET, WSO2 WSAS and other J2EE implementations.

First alpha version of the WSO2 Mashup Server out now

Mashups are light and quick compositions of information from various sources. The WSO2 Mashup Server is a powerful yet simple and quick way to tailor Web-based information. It is a platform for consuming data from a variety of sources including Web Services, HTML pages, feeds and processing and combining it with other data. The result is then exposed as a new Web service with rich metadata and artifacts to quickly build rich user interfaces.

The WSO2 Mashup Server provides you with a

  • platform for easy invocation of Web Services from within a JavaScript + E4X environment. This enables you to grab data in XML format from a variety of Web Services and manipulate it easily.
  • Expose JavaScript functions as Web Service operations, complete with WSDL 2.0 or WSDL 1.1 and XML Schema descriptions, and automatically generate bindings for SOAP 1.2, SOAP 1.1, and REST access.

Next steps will be to make the the WSO2 Mashup Server an ecosystem of community-developed services that will broaden the palette of capabilities for mashups and distributed applications.
