New WSO2 White Paper Presents Event-Driven Architecture Best Practices

Paper discusses how an EDA addresses event-driven Platform 3 demands for high agility and expandability, integration with future apps, and real-time analysis and monitoring

Mountain View, CA – July 28, 2015 – Enterprises have entered the era of “Platform 3” in which the cloud, mobility, Internet of Things, social, open source, platform-as-a-service/DevOps, and big data combine to achieve dramatic gains in agility and digitization—along with a demand for everything to be event driven. A new white paper from WSO2 explores best practices for implementing an event-driven architecture (EDA) to boost enterprise efficiency and competitiveness.

The white paper, “Event-Driven Architecture: The Path to Increased Agility and High Expandability,” begins by outlining the basic functions of an event-driven architecture, sometimes known as a messaging system, and the components commonly leveraged in implementing it. The paper then examines the advantages EDAs offer to enterprises across different industries, both for traditional enterprises and for connected businesses relying on new Platform 3 technology.

Next, the paper reviews architectural goals to consider when designing event-driven infrastructure for a new application. It also discusses how WSO2 offers a full suite of open source components for implementing highly scalable, reliable enterprise-grade solutions based on either event-driven service-oriented architecture (SOA) or Web services architecture. The paper concludes with an overview of an EDA reference architecture.
