“SOA Adoption for Dummies” author Miko Matsumara is featured speaker at WSO2 Workshop on successful SOA implementation

SOA Experts Lead One-Day New York Workshop on February 25; Sharing Real-World Best Practices for Secure, Interoperable SOAs Internally and in the Cloud

Mountain View, CA – February 23, 2010 – Miko Matsumara, author of the popular “SOA Adoption for Dummies” book published by John Wiley and Sons, has seen first-hand the opportunities and challenges offered by adopting a service-oriented architecture (SOA). This week he will share his insights in a presentation on "SOA Adoption Best Practices: Scale, Leverage and Guidance." Mr. Matsumara will deliver his presentation as a featured speaker at the one-day SOA Workshop being hosted by WSO2 on Thursday, February 25, in downtown New York.

Enterprise IT architects and software developers who attend the WSO2 SOA Workshop can learn proven, pragmatic and affordable approaches for successfully implementing SOAs locally and via cloud computing. Participants also will learn how to address issues that often stall SOA deployments, including integration complexity, interaction with partners and customers, and risk mitigation concerns—a particular concern in the financial services sector.

The WSO2 SOA workshop will be held Thursday, February 25, at the Downtown Conference Center at Pace University in New York, and it will run 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The cost is $125 per person to attend. To register, visit http://wso2.com/events/2010-feb-nyc-soa-workshop.

The Do’s and Don’ts of Successful SOAs

SOA Workshop attendees will gain an overall understanding of SOA concepts and approaches to implementing end-to-end SOA solutions, as well as review which enterprise SOA architecture patterns work effectively—and which don’t. In addition to Mr. Matsumara’s presentation, sessions will dive into enterprise service bus (ESB) SOA practices; SOA security; business-facing SOAs through business process management (BPM), dashboards, and business activity monitoring (BAM); SOA governance; and how cloud computing can fit within an SOA.
