WSO2 CTO to Present Session on Ultra-Scale SOA Services at Forrester’s Enterprise Architecture Forum 2011

Session to Include Case Study of How Lean, Open Source Middleware Handles 600 Million Transactions Each Day for One of the World’s Highest Volume E-commerce Web APIs

Mountain View, CA – February 07, 2011 WSO2 today announced that WSO2 Co-founder and CTO Paul Fremantle will speak at Forrester’s Enterprise Architecture Forum 2011 in a session entitled “Ultra-scale E-commerce Transaction Services with Lean Middleware.”As a Gold sponsor of the Forrester Research event, WSO2 also will have a booth featuring demonstrations of how its lean open source middleware enables companies to seamlessly deploy applications and Web services on premise and in the cloud. The conference is being held February 17-18, 2011 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.

Ultra-scale E-commerce Transaction Services with Lean Middleware

Paul Fremantle will present a case study of how a lean ESB became the basis of one of the highest volume e-commerce Web APIs in the world, handling 600 million transactions a day, and he will examine the challenges that developers need to address in handling high volumes. Fremantle also will explore the emerging trend in simple, modular, high-performance middleware that focuses on the task at hand—through such technologies as OSGi—to provide just what is needed when it is needed. Additionally, he will look at why modular open source software is important to the future of cloud platforms.

Time: Thursday, February 17, 2011, 3:00-3:30 p.m.

Presenter: Paul Fremantle, WSO2 co-founder and CTO, vice president of the Apache Software Foundation Synapse Project, and co-chair of the OASIS Web Services Reliable eXchange Technical Committee.

Demonstration: Build Seamlessly Integrated On Premise and Cloud Applications

WSO2 will use its booth in the EA Forum Solutions Showcase to demonstrate how the 100% open source WSO2 Carbon and WSO2 Stratos enable IT developers to build seamlessly integrated enterprise applications and services—whether they run on local servers, public clouds, private clouds, or hybrid environments.

The award-winning WSO2 Carbon is the industry’s first fully componentized middleware platform for creating, running, and managing composite applications and Web services within a service-oriented architecture (SOA). Built on the OSGi specification, WSO2 Carbon lets developers easily deploy and customize any of its WSO2 Carbon-based middleware products, providing greater flexibility and agility to meet changing enterprise demands.

WSO2 Stratos is the industry’s first complete cloud middleware platform for rapidly building and deploying applications and services. It provides IT professionals with a fully hosted application platform as a service (PaaS) featuring instant provisioning, elasticity, and the efficiency of multi-tenancy. Because WSO2 Stratos is built on top of and extends WSO2 Carbon, applications and services can be migrated smoothly and safely on premise, to a private cloud, to the public cloud, or to a hybrid environment.
