WSO2 Executive Who Leads Apache Stratos Project Will Present Session on PaaS Framework’s Capabilities and Roadmap at ApacheCon Europe 2014

WSO2 Director of Cloud Architecture and Vice President of Apache Stratos will examine how the functionality of Apache Stratos can serve as a disruptive force in today’s PaaS market

Mountain View, CA – November 11, 2014 – Increasingly enterprises are adopting the Apache Stratos platform as a service (PaaS) framework to empower their existing software with multi-tenancy, instant provisioning, and other cloud capabilities. Lakmal Warusawithana, vice president of Apache Stratos and WSO2 director of cloud architecture will provide IT professionals with a deeper understanding of Apache Stratos at ApacheCon Europe 2014. ApacheCon Europe will run November 17 - 21, 2014 at the Corinthia Hotel in Budapest, Hungary.

Apache Stratos Roadmap and Strategy

Lakmal’s session, “Apache Stratos Roadmap and Strategy," will run from 4:50-5:40 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in the Dery/Mikszath room. In his session, Lakmal will discuss how Apache Stratos, the polyglot PaaS framework, provides developers with a cloud-based environment for developing, testing, and running scalable applications. He also will explore how Apache Stratos delivers high utilization rates, automated resource management, and platform-wide insight including monitoring and billing. Additionally, Lakmal will examine the roadmap for Apache Stratos and discuss how it can become a disruptive force in the current PaaS market.

About the Presenter

Lakmal Warusawithana is WSO2 director of cloud architecture and vice president of Apache Stratos. At WSO2, Lakmal focuses on the development of WSO2 Private PaaS, which is built on top of the Apache Stratos project. Lakmal has over 12 years of industry experience. In 2005, he co-founded the thinkCube, pioneering the next generation of collaborative cloud computing products tailored toward telecom operators. There, Lakmal oversaw the overall engineering process with a deep focus on scalability and service delivery of thinkCube solutions. Prior to co-founding thinkCube, he specialized in Linux-based server deployments that came with a custom server management interface at ITABS.
