“WSO2 Stratos delivers a complete middleware platform that serves as an important bridge between business processes and the underlying infrastructure in enterprise clouds,” said Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana, WSO2 founder and CEO. “Similarly, with our WSO2 Cloud Partnership Initiative, we are providing a bridge between leading SIs and IaaS providers to ensure the deployment of enterprise-class cloud applications and services based on proven best practices and technology.”

WSO2 Offers Systems Integrators Fast-Track to Enterprise Clouds

Through the WSO2 Cloud Partnership Initiative, WSO2 is providing a fast-track path for SIs to use WSO2 Stratos for cloud-enabling their customers’ existing applications and services, building and delivering new software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings, and creating new vertical PaaS/SaaS templates to support industry-specific applications and services. SIs who join WSO2’s initative gain complementary in-depth training, including set-up of a pilot private cloud based on WSO2 Stratos; revenue sharing on initial WSO2 Stratos-based deployments; and a commission on recurring production support revenue.

The first two systems integrators to join the WSO2 Cloud Partnership Initiative are Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. and WebScience. Cognizant, a leading global provider of information technology, consulting, and business process outsourcing services is extending its current partnership with WSO2, in which it is delivering enterprise solutions based on WSO2’s award-winning Carbon middleware platform. WebScience, is one of Italy’s leading providers of technology and consulting services.

“One of the challenges we face is providing our enterprise customers with the continuity they need, regardless of whether they deploy on-premise or in the public cloud,” said Massimo Ficagna, partner and co-founder of WebScience (WS). “The addition of Stratos PaaS to the WSO2 middleware family means we can now offer customers the flexibility to deploy their applications and SOA infrastructure on private clouds or as hosted multi-tenant services with the ease-of-deployment, elasticity, and metering that an effective private cloud demands.”

Infrastructure-as-a-Service Partnerships to Speed Deployment Through the WSO2 Cloud Partnership Initiative, WSO2 also is establishing partnerships with leading IaaS providers to speed the deployment of WSO2 Stratos on their cloud infrastructures. Initial partnerships in support of the WSO2 Stratos launch are:

  • Canonical Ltd. – WSO2 is partnering with Canonical to offer WSO2 Stratos on the Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud. As part of the WSO2 CloudStart SM Program, Ubuntu is the default private cloud platform for deploying WSO2 Stratos.
