Palo Alto, CA – June 26, 2013 – Today, enterprise application integration (EAI) best practices are based on service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles and a flexible, highly capable enterprise service bus (ESB). In a one-day workshop for IT architects and developers, WSO2 and guest presenter T-Systems will explore how to successfully implement a service broker pattern for connectivity, mediation, process orchestration, and security using an ESB model.

The Role of an ESB within an SOA
The workshop is designed for IT architects and developers seeking to obtain a high-level architectural understanding of how ESBs fit within an SOA. It will explore how enterprises can connect, mediate, orchestrate and manage interactions between application integration consumers and providers using WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus in conjunction with other components of the WSO2 Carbon enterprise middleware platform. It will also introduce API management as a solution to extend SOA architecture and govern APIs. Workshop session topics will include:
Workshop Presenters
Isabelle Mauny, WSO2 director of product management, focuses on enhancing the company’s middleware products, platforms and solutions to maximize customer value. Isabelle brings more than 18 years of technology, consulting and management experience in Java, application development, middleware, and SOA, through her roles at IBM and Vordel. Additionally, Isabelle is a published author and regular speaker on the topics of system administration, application development, and programming.
Nirosh Perera, WSO2 director of partnerships and training, focuses on building and enabling the WSO2 partner network. Prior to joining WSO2, Nirosh worked with Sri Lankan Airlines in the sales and marketing division where he handled a portfolio of clients. He also has gained experience in the IT sphere, working as an user interface engineer at Virtusa Corp.
Guest presenter Thomas Wieger, a solutions architect at T-Systems, has loved to develop and architect software systems since he took his first steps with a ZX81 home computer at the age of 14. He joined T-Systems in 2004 as a software architect working on different systems of medium and large size. Since 2011, he has been involved in the development of the connected car platform architecture.
