Mountain View, CA, USA and London, UK – March 24, 2015 – WSO2 today announced that it has signed a G-Cloud 6 provider agreement with Crown Commercial Service (CCS). An executive agency of the Cabinet Office of the United Kingdom government, CCS acts on behalf of the Crown to drive savings for the taxpayer and improve the quality of commercial and procurement activity.
Through the G-Cloud 6 agreement with CCS, WSO2 provides easy access to a range of platform as a service (PaaS) solutions designed to address the application development, integration and management requirements faced by many governmental organisations today.
WSO2’s G-Cloud 6 agreement with CCS supports the UK government’s policy to centrally manage the procurement of common goods and services through an integrated commercial function at the heart of government. This agreement can be used by organisations across the UK public sector including central government, local government, health, education, devolved administrations, emergency services, defence and not-for-profit organisations.
Because the G-Cloud 6 agreement is fully European Union (EU) compliant, working with WSO2 through this agreement saves customers the time and money associated with conducting their own procurement exercises.
“We are proud to participate in the G-Cloud 6 agreement with CCS, and we look forward to helping governmental organisations of all sizes take advantage of the agility, collaboration and efficiencies provided by cloud computing through our PaaS solutions,” said Jonathan Marsh, WSO2 vice president of strategy.
About Crown Commercial Service
The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has brought together Government’s central commercial capability into a single organisation, amalgamating Government Procurement Service with other commercial teams from the Cabinet Office and central government departments.
CCS is an executive agency of the Cabinet Office and operates as a trading fund under the Government Trading Funds Act 1973. Their remit is to work with both departments and organisations across the whole of the public sector to ensure maximum value is extracted from every commercial relationship and improve the quality of service delivery.
The CCS goal is to become the “go-to” place for expert commercial and procurement services. With both service delivery and advisory capability, services include contract management and supplier performance management to ensure that the Government acts as a true, single customer; freeing up individual organisations to focus their procurement expertise on what is unique to them.
