Session Will Use the WSO2 Stratos Open Source Cloud Middleware Platform to Explore the Issues of Multi-Tenancy, Elasticity, and Metering in the Cloud
Palo Alto, CA – November 23, 2011
– WSO2 today announced that the SiliconIndia Cloud Developer Conference will feature a session entitled “Open Source Middleware for the Cloud: WSO2 Stratos.” The session will be led by Dimuthu Leelarathne, WSO2 technical lead and product manager of WSO2 Stratos. As a platinum sponsor of the event, WSO2 also will have a booth to demonstrate how its open source middleware enables enterprises to seamlessly deploy applications and Web services on-premise and in the cloud. The SiliconIndia Cloud Developer Conference will be held November 26, 2011 at the Hotel Aurora Towers in Pune, India.
Open Source Middleware for the Cloud
More enterprises are looking to platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)—whether in a true public cloud or as an on-premise private cloud—to build a strong framework that lets developers go beyond just hosting an image in a cloud. This session will explore how the WSO2 Stratos cloud middleware platform enables the deployment of a full PaaS, whether on the public cloud or on a Eucalyptus, vmWare, OpenStack or Ubuntu private cloud. It also will examine how developers can quickly build out highly scalable applications and software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions, free from any lock-in. Additionally, the session will dig into the challenges of multi-tenancy, elasticity and metering, and show how to get started with running and managing WSO2 Stratos.
Saturday, November 26, 2011, 9:45-10:30 a.m.
Dimuthu Leelarathne, WSO2 technical lead and product manager of WSO2 Stratos, is an expert in Java technologies. She was an initial team member of the Axis-Mora project, which served as proof of concept for Apache Axis2. Dimuthu also implemented WS-SecureConversation and WS-Trust on Apache Axis1.
Demonstration: Build Seamlessly Integrated On-Premise and Cloud Applications
WSO2 will use its booth at the SiliconIndia Cloud Developer conference to demonstrate how the 100% open source WSO2 Carbon, WSO2 Stratos and WSO2 StratosLive—which all run on the same code base—enable IT developers to build seamlessly integrated enterprise applications and services that run on-premise and in the cloud.
The award-winning WSO2 Carbon
is the industry’s first fully componentized middleware platform for creating, running, and managing composite applications and Web services within an SOA. Built on the OSGi specification, WSO2 Carbon lets developers easily deploy and customize any of its WSO2 Carbon-based middleware products, and the 150-plus components on which they are comprised, providing greater flexibility and agility to meet changing enterprise demands.
The award-winning WSO2 Stratos
is the industry’s first complete cloud middleware platform for rapidly building and deploying applications and services with full multi-tenancy and the elasticity, reliability and scalability to support high-volume cloud environments. It is built on top of and extends WSO2 Carbon. WSO2 StratosLive
is the public PaaS hosted by WSO2 and powered by the WSO2 Stratos software. Because WSO2 Carbon, WSO2 Stratos and WSO2 StratosLive share the same code, applications and services can be migrated smoothly and safely on premise, to a private cloud, to the public cloud, or to a hybrid environment.
