WSO2 to Present Webinar on How to Build an Enterprise Cloud With WSO2 Private PaaS

Webinar will examine cloud bursting an application deployment, multi-factor auto-scaling, multi-tenant deployment, and scalable load-balancing using WSO2 Private PaaS

Palo Alto, CA – January 30, 2014 – Increasingly, enterprises seek agile environments to deploy applications quickly onsite or in the cloud, enabling them to run efficiently and scale elastically to meet shifting demands. To help address this demand, WSO2 will examine how to build a lasting enterprise private cloud and optimize application deployment using WSO2 Private PaaS.

The one-hour technical webinar, “Building an Enterprise Cloud with WSO2 Private PaaS,” will be held Thursday, February 6, 2014, from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. For more information, visit https://wso2.com/library/webinars/2014/02/building-an-enterprise-cloud-with-wso2-private-paas.

Building an Enterprise Cloud

The webinar will begin with an overview of WSO2 Private PaaS, the open source, enterprise-grade private platform as a service (PaaS) solution implemented using the Apache Stratos (incubating) PaaS framework. It also will examine how WSO2 Private PaaS extends fully multi-tenant WSO2 Carbon enterprise middleware products—along with other third-party servers—as cloud services, while introducing other capabilities, such as billing and metering.

Key webinar topics will include:

  • An introduction to WSO2 Private PaaS architecture.
  • An overview of the cloud bursting application deployment model.
  • Multi-factor auto-scaling and multi-tenant deployment best practices.
  • Smart policies for running an enterprise cloud.
  • How to build a future-proof enterprise cloud.

Leading the webinar will be Pradeep Fernando, associate technical lead, who focuses on the development of WSO2 Carbon. He has contributed to the Apache Software Foundation, working on the Apache Axis2 project. In addition to his product development efforts, Pradeep has provided technology consulting on customer engagements, including QuickStart programs.

About WSO2 Private PaaS

WSO2 Private PaaS (formerly WSO2 Stratos) provides the industry’s most complete, open enterprise-grade platform as a service. It features a cartridge-based architecture that combines support for heterogeneous applications and service-oriented architecture (SOA) platform runtimes with native, secure multi-tenancy.

WSO2 Private PaaS includes the WSO2 PaaS Foundation, which is an instance of the Apache Stratos (incubating) PaaS framework; all pre-integrated, cloud-ready, and fully multi-tenant WSO2 Carbon middleware products; and cartridges for MySQL, PHP and Apache TomCat.

Through the use of jclouds, WSO2 Stratos 2.0 offers the ability to run on almost any infrastructure as a service (IaaS) cloud, including SUSE Cloud and other OpenStack-based offerings, VMware, Eucalyptus, and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).
