Four WSO2 technical webinars will explore how architects and developers can leverage the advantages of a microservice architecture to meet business needs
Mountain View, CA – January 21, 2016 – Microservice architecture (MSA) is fast becoming a popular pattern in today’s agile enterprises. Its iterative architectural approach and development methodologies are attracting the interest of architects who need to ensure continuous, agile delivery and flexible deployment of complex, service-oriented applications. WSO2 will present three webinars on how IT professionals can leverage the advantages of MSA through the use of middleware and an understanding of its outer and inner architecture.
The microservice architecture webinar series will run January 27 – February 24, 2016. To learn more, visit: https://wso2.com/landing/microservice-architecture-webinar-series-2016.
January 27 - A Pragmatic Approach to Microservice Architecture: The Role of Middleware
By using the correct middleware capabilities, enterprises can fully leverage the advantages provided by a microservice architecture to enable ease of implementation and faster time to market. The webinar will begin with a discussion of MSA requirements illustrated by real-world examples. It will then explore:
Asanka Abeysinghe, WSO2 vice president of solutions architecture, will present the webinar on Wednesday, January 27, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PST. For more information, visit https://wso2.com/library/webinars/2016/01/a-pragmatic-approach-to-microservice-architecture-the-role-of-middleware.
February 3 – Deep-dive into Microservice Outer Architecture
Similar to a service-oriented architecture (SOA), MSA promotes loosely coupled services as building blocks for software system architectures. However, there are important differences between the two approaches. Notably, to enable flexible and scalable development and deployment of microservices, developers first need to focus on an MSA’s outer architecture, which addresses its platform capabilities.
This webinar will compare and contrast MSA with SOA, discussing both their pros and cons as well as the extent to which MSA complements or replaces SOA. Next it will examine what an MSA looks like in practice and discuss the practical challenges to implementing an MSA. Additionally, the session will answer common questions around the MSA outer architecture, including:
Jointly presenting will be Srinath Perera, WSO2 vice president of research, and Frank Leymann, WSO2 system architect. The webinar will be held Wednesday, February 3, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PST. February 10 – Deep-dive into Microservice Inner Architecture
The inner architecture of an MSA addresses the implementation architecture of the microservices, themselves. It therefore plays a crucial role in the implementation of an MSA-based solution. This webinar will discuss how many frameworks and development choices are available, as well as review some of the key requirements of microservices frameworks, such as throughput, latency and memory efficiency.
Additionally, the webinar will:
Afkham Azeez, WSO2 director of architecture, will present the webinar on Wednesday, February 10, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PST. For more information, visit https://wso2.com/landing/microservice-architecture-webinar-series-2016/.
February 24 – An Introduction to WSO2 Microservices Server
In early Q1 2016, WSO2 Microservices Server (WSO2 MSS) will launch, providing the necessary framework and tooling to build and deliver high-performance, service-oriented applications with RESTful service containers that ensure low resource usage.
This webinar will:
Sagara Gunathunga, WSO2 software architect, will present the webinar on Wednesday, February 24, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PST. For more information, visit https://wso2.com/library/webinars/2016/02/an-introduction-to-wso2-microservices-framework-for-java/.
