API Manager

Palo Alto, CA – June 4, 2013 – The cloud, mobile computing and Web 3.0 are enabling businesses to collaborate in new ways, using managed APIs to attract, retain and grow customers. However in the race to monetize their APIs, too many companies overlook the critical role of API branding. WSO2 aims to help enterprises close the gap with a new webinar that explores how to provide a strong brand presence throughout the API portal and operations to support a healthy API strategy. The interactive session will feature Chris Haddad, WSO2 vice president of technology evangelism, and Kin Lane, founder of API Evangelist.

The one-hour technical webinar, “Your API Branding Strategy,” is being held on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PDT. For more information, visit https://wso2.org/library/webinars/2013/06/your-api-branding-strategy .

Strategies for Effective API Branding

The webinar will describe how API branding begins with the developer portal: maintaining a consistent look and feel across the developer area, sharing relevant APIs, and promoting the community. It also will examine how the API portal guides API developers and consumers on how they should weave a company’s brand into their Web and mobile applications, or widgets and info graphics. Other key topics Chris and Kin will cover include:

  • Why organizations need to create an API brand
  • The actions and presence that influence API brand success
  • Strategies for efficiently promoting APIs through multiple branded API portals

About WSO2 API Manager

WSO2 delivers WSO2 API Manager, which launched in August 2012 as the first 100% open source API management product to combine easy, managed API access with full API governance and analysis. As the first API management product to offer an API Store, it lets IT organizations set up their own Apple or Google Marketplace-like store where developers can easily subscribe to and consume APIs. Meanwhile it provides API publishers with complete API life cycle governance—from creating to publishing, deprecating and retiring APIs—as well as analytics and metrics to support decision-making and enforce service-level agreement (SLA) policies.

The latest release, WSO2 API Manager 1.4, launched on June 3, 2013. It adds full native multi-tenancy, resulting in two industry firsts:

  • The first API management product that can run on servers, in a private cloud, public cloud or hybrid cloud environment—all from the same software.
  • The first API management product that enables federated access to APIs across multiple entities, enabling new models for organizations to collaborate and monetize APIs.

WSO2 API Manager is built on the same WSO2 technology used by enterprises around the world, including a Global 1000 company that is handling more than 1 billion API calls per day.
