WSO2 Wraps Up Summer School With Class on Addressing Federated Identity and Access Management Requirements

Free WSO2 webinar-based training on August 27, will discuss use cases and ICAM solutions for federated identity, authentication and authorization using WSO2 technologies

Palo Alto, CA – August 20, 2013 – The continuous stream of news about security breeches highlights the challenges organizations face in keeping pace with rapidly evolving identity and access management requirements. Today, this means implementing mechanisms, which often span not only heterogeneous operating environments, but also across trust boundaries that may include partners, subsidiaries, customers or suppliers. The final WSO2 Summer School class of 2013 will address this challenge by examining how to achieve an effective state-of-the-art identity credential and access management (ICAM) solution.

The interactive online class, “Practical Federated Identity – Use Cases from the Real World,” is being offered at no cost as a part of the WSO2 Summer School 2013 program. It will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Pacific. To participate, visit https://wso2.com/library/webinars/2013/08/practical-federated-identity-use-cases-from-the-real-world.

The session will begin by discussing the business demands and organizational structures that drive the need for a federated approach to identity management. It will then explore how an ICAM solution needs to address issues of access, authentication and authorization between systems, regardless of physical distance, operating environment, and trust domain. The session then will examine real-world projects and discuss how customers have implemented the WSO2 Carbon open source WSO2 middleware platform to address their federated identity requirements.

Jointly leading the session will be Selvaratnam Uthaiyashankar (Shankar) WSO2 director of cloud solutions, and Johann Nallathamby, WSO2 senior software engineer. Shankar focuses on the WSO2 Stratos platform as a service (PaaS) software and Carbon enterprise middleware kernel. Johann, a key member of the WSO2 Identity Server team, contributes to the development of WSO2 security solutions.
