WSO2Mobile Begins Recruiting Beta Customers for WSO2 Enterprise Mobility Management Platform

WSO2Mobile will preview products designed to simplify the enterprise management of mobile devices and applications at WSO2Con 2013 US in San Francisco, October 29-31

Palo Alto, CA – October 28, 2013 – Mobile computing is central to enabling today’s connected business, empowering enterprises to provide more flexibility for employees, engage with customers and partners, drive greater efficiencies, and create new revenue streams. To help enterprises act on this opportunity, WSO2Mobile, a subsidiary of WSO2 Inc., today announced that it is recruiting beta customers for the WSO2Mobile Enterprise Mobility Management platform.

WSO2Mobile also will preview the WSO2Mobile Enterprise Mobility Management platform at WSO2Con 2013 US, which is being held October 29-31, 2013 at the Mission Bay Conference Center at UCSF in San Francisco, CA.

“The popularity of swipe-savvy smart phones and tablets is leading more organizations to adopt bring-your-own-device programs to accommodate employees’ preferences. However, with this flexibility comes the need to monitor and manage the valuable corporate data and applications that are residing on both corporate and employee-owned devices,” said Harsha Purasinghe, founder and CEO of WSO2Mobile. “Using our WSO2Mobile Enterprise Mobility Management platform, organizations will have a comprehensive solution for extending applications to employees’ mobile devices of choice while ensuring the secure access and management of their corporate assets.”

WSO2Mobile Enterprise Mobility Management Platform

The WSO2Mobile Enterprise Mobility Management platform includes two products, which are scheduled for general availability in Q1 2014: WSO2Mobile Device Management (WSO2Mobile MDM) and WSO2Mobile Application Management (WSO2Mobile MAM).

WSO2Mobile Device Management will enable organizations to secure, manage and monitor devices—such as smart phones, tablet PCs, and the iPod Touch—irrespective of the mobile operator, service provider or organization. WSO2Mobile MDM will only control the corporate data that is present on the devices, while the personal data will be left untouched. Further, all actions that will be carried out via WSO2Mobile MDM will be clearly stated in the terms and conditions presented to an employee when registering. WSO2Mobile MDM maintains a list of compliance policies based on the employee roles within the enterprise, and device management rules and policies are fully customizable.

WSO2Mobile Application Management will allow enterprises to control the applications on both corporate and employee-owned mobile devices. Using WSO2Mobile MAM, IT organizations can control access to the corporate applications based on their compliance policies. WSO2Mobile MAM will include three key consoles to manage these applications: WSO2 Enterprise Mobile Publisher, WSO2 Mobile Administrator Console, and WSO2 Enterprise Mobile Store. Notably, the Store provides an Apple or Google Marketplace-like store where registered users can search, view and install all published corporate applications on-demand, as well as socially interact with the community by posting comments, likes and even rating the applications. WSO2Mobile MAM can be extended by integrating and deploying it with WSO2Mobile MDM.

Like all WSO2 middleware, WSO2Mobile MAM and WSO2Mobile MDM will run on-premise and in the cloud. The 100% open source products are based on the fully componentized, cloud-enabled WSO2 Carbon platform used by enterprises around the world.

WSO2Mobile Enterprise Mobility Management Beta Program

Ideal candidates for the WSO2Mobile beta program are enterprise IT professionals who are planning or evaluating ways to maintain control and security over their corporate data and applications while providing employees the flexibility to use their mobile devices of choice. Participants also must be committed to participating and giving feedback.
