In a connected businesses, information from one business entity is exposed or delivered to another by adopting a chosen standard mechanism or an integration styl with the use of a particular communication channel. The ‘events’ that occur within one entity can be important or business-critical to another. However, without adhering to the traditional, inefficient polling-based interaction mechanisms, it was not possible for another entity to fetch information pertaining to these events.

The event-driven architecture for messaging provides a solution to this problem by allowing the external entities to establish communication channels to the main entity as subscribers for its events. With this approach, the main entity would automatically issue notifications of relevant events to its subscribers once they occur. Then the consumption of the messages will be done accordingly by the subscribers, depending on the event notifications.

In this webinar, the following topics will be covered:

  • Event-driven messaging concepts
  • Advantages of the event-driven messaging pattern
  • Event publisher-subscriber and push-pull models
  • Demo of a sample solution utilizing WSO2 platform components
