[Carbon-dev] OSGi Powered Carbon

Hi Devs,

Introduction:

Please download [1], which is OSGi Powered Carbon, and be kind enough to
test it. This includes the following dependencies from trunk,

1. wss4j - 652071
2. XmlSchema - 652071
3. woden - 652071
4. axiom - 652071
5. neethi - 652071
6. axis2 - 652071
7. commons/authenticator - 16295
8. registry - 16295
9. carbon-orbit - 16295
10. carbon - 16295

These dependencies are not as it is and they have been converted to OSGi
bundles from Carbon Orbit project. Thus, the converted orbit projects
will be,

1. org.wso2.carbon.axis2
2. org.wso2.carbon.wss4j
3. org.wso2.caronb.registry

How to run:

[1]. Dowonload the binary from the location
[2]. Unzip wos2carbon-SNAPHOT.zip
[3]. execute wso2carbon-SNAPSHOT/bin/wso2serer.sh

[4]. Once started ; the carbon console can be accessed via
https://ip:9444/main/index.html

[5]. Please provide the assigned IP of you machine, if not connect to a
DHCP server.

Advance users:

Carbon is build ontop of Equinox OSGi environment. Said that this has
the support for Felix too. Due to classloading issue in Felix, we
wouldn't recommend to test on Felix OSGi.

Once Carbon has started, you will be able to play around with the
Equinox OSGi console. This includes
starting/stopping/installing/updating etc of bundles. Please buzz Carbon
team for more information on Equinox OSGi console.

General Information:

In addition to this there will be bunch of components from Carbon
components project, which has not been included here. Please add them to
plugins directory and start them. This would be a good exercise in
getting know of OSGi


There are many functionalities that needed to be added before the beta
release. Before that Carbon team wants the users to get feel of it's
functionality.
