Banks, insurance companies and other players in the financial industry are embracing the FIX protocol as the primary means of real-time electronic exchange of securities transactions. While being a very simple and robust communication protocol, FIX provides a number of QoS features such as reliability and in-order delivery.
Despite these advantages, FIX-enabled applications usually interoperate very poorly with non-FIX applications. This is mainly due to the special message format and the rigid nature of the FIX protocol itself. This brings up the requirement for an out-of-the-box enterprise application integration solution which seamlessly integrates FIX services with other applications.
In this session Heshan and Charith will introduce the FIX protocol and FIX support in the WSO2 ESB. They will walk you through real life integration scenarios involving the FIX protocol and explain how to solve such problems using WSO2’s open source middleware platform.
