Alok is a veteran with more than 30 years in management roles in the IT industry. He comes with a strong focus on strategy formulation and financial planning, and a special interest in non-organic growth through Mergers and Acquisitions.
Alok served as CEO of The Santa Cruz Operation, Inc. ("SCO") from July 1995 until April 1998, when he was appointed the company's Chairman of the Board. He served as Chairman of SCO until May 2001 when a portion of SCO's assets were sold to Caldera International, Inc. He continued as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the remaining business, renamed Tarantella, Inc., until it was sold to Sun Microsystems, Inc in 2005. From May 1994 to July 1995, Alok served as Senior Vice President, Operations and Chief Financial Officer of SCO.
Prior to joining SCO, Alok was with NCR Corporation, where he served as Vice President of Strategic Planning and Controller and Vice President and General Manager of the Workstation Products Division at NCR.
Alok is the non-executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rainmaker, Inc.,while also serving on the Board of Directors of TechTeam Global, Inc., Stampede Technologies, Inc. and CrystalGraphics, Inc.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technologies as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from the Indiana University.
