IT Digital Transformation Ltd (ITDT) worked with the city of Heraklion Crete in Greece to build a web portal for more than 6,000 users. One of the most crucial aspects of this project was achieving compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in addition to creating unique user profiles, unify the authentication process, and provide new options for authentication.
ITDT’s identity vendor of choice was WSO2 Identity Server. WSO2 enabled them to achieve GDPR compliance, create identity management infrastructure, and achieve the required level of security. After the success of this project, plans are now in place to expand this identity management platform and deploy it in other municipalities in Crete.
WSO2 Identity Server is GDPR ready, supported the use of existing user stores, allowed us to create a centralized identity, supports inbound authentication, and of course is open source and offered vendor support.”
