WSO2 CTO and VP Wrap Up Cloud Summer School With Class on Scaling Cloud Implementations Across the Enterprise
Free Webinar-Based Training on July 24, Builds on Previous Sessions by Examining How to Scale Proof-of-Concept Prototypes and Address Cloud Deployment Challenges
Palo Alto, CA – July 17, 2012
– The
WSO2
Cloud Summer School program has showcased best practices for selecting a platform-as-a-service (PaaS), building cloud-aware applications, delivering on-demand middleware services, adopting DevOps and automated governance, and demonstrating cloud value. The final WSO2 Cloud Summer School class of 2012 will expand on these concepts by exploring how to scale proof-of-concept cloud prototypes across the development portfolio and throughout an organization. The interactive online class, “Best of Summer School - Scale Cloud Across the Enterprise,” will be led by WSO2 Co-founder and CTO Paul Fremantle and WSO2 Vice President of Technology Evangelism, Chris Haddad. It is being offered at no cost as a part of the WSO2 Cloud Summer School program. The class will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Pacific. To participate, register at:
https://wso2.com/library/webinars/2012/07/wso2-summer-school-2012-best-summer-school-scale-cloud-across-enterprise.
The wrap-up class will discuss when to migrate applications to the cloud, as well as where a cloud application strategy may encounter challenges. Additionally, the class will demonstrate how IT architects and developers can scale their cloud strategy and tactics across the organization.
Class Presenters
Paul Fremantle, WSO2 co-founder and CTO, spearheads the company’s overall product strategy. Recognized by InfoWorld as a Top 25 CTO, Paul was responsible for simultaneously leading development of the groundbreaking WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus and Apache Synapse ESB. Paul has played a pioneering role in open source development, beginning with the original Apache SOAP project. He currently is co-chair of the OASIS Web Services Reliable eXchange Technical Committee, as well as vice president of the Apache Synapse Project. Chris Haddad, WSO2 vice president of technology evangelism, works closely with developers, architects, and C-level executives to increase WSO2 technology adoption, improve the middleware platform, and maximize customer value. He has been advising Fortune 500 companies and charting a vision toward “Cloud 2020,” both in his current role and as a former research vice president at the Burton Group and Gartner.
Cloud Summer School
Since 2009, the popular WSO2 Summer School program has helped more than 2,000 enterprise IT architects and developers become more familiar with service-oriented architecture (SOA) technologies and best practices. The all-new classes for 2012 will focus on the cloud: from selecting a cloud platform to developing cloud applications, scaling cloud deployments, and demonstrating cloud value. Taught by some of the industry’s leading technical experts, the classes offer an opportunity to obtain thousands of dollars worth of professional training at zero cost.
