WSO2 CTO to Present Technical Sessions on the Evolution of PaaS and Integration at QCon London 2012
Palo Alto, CA – February 27, 2012
– WSO2 today announced that WSO2 Co-founder and CTO Paul Fremantle will present two sessions at
QCon London 2012
: “The Evolution of PaaS” and “The Evolution of Integration.” QCon London 2012 is being held March 7-9, 2012 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre.
The Evolution of Platform-as-a-Service
In this session, Paul will explore the ongoing evolution of platform-as-a-service (PaaS), including the different approaches and key differentiators between various PaaS offerings. He will review technical aspects, such as language support, deployment models, scaling, elasticity and multi-tenancy. Additionally, Paul will address common organizational issues, including the demand to fit with existing investments, openness and pluggability. He also will examine project case studies to discuss what core services are important today as well as for the future.

The Evolution of Integration
In this session, Paul will examine the latest trends in integration, including the API management movement, the focus on JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), and representational state transfer (REST) compared to Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and service-oriented architecture (SOA). He will review available approaches, highlighting the pros and cons of different integration technologies. Additionally, Paul will present examples of integration, addressing the issues of asynchronous messaging, non-blocking, and high-volume scenarios.
