WSO2 CTO to Present Technical Webinar on the WSO2 Platform and Technology
Free WSO2 Webinar on March 12, 2012 Offers IT Professionals Insights on How to Take Advantage of WSO2’s Lean Middleware for On-premise and the Cloud
Palo Alto, CA – March 6, 2012
– A lean approach to enterprise middleware holds the promise to simplify integration, streamline processes, and optimize the use of resources. However, many vendors claiming to be in the lean camp would have to put their middleware platforms on a serious diet to eliminate the redundancies and discrepancies that exist among their products. WSO2 tackled the issue three years ago with the launch of the industry’s only fully componentized middleware platform, in which all products run on a core framework and are managed through a unified graphical management console. Today, WSO2 offers more than a dozen middleware products in both on-premise and fully multi-tenant cloud versions that are all built on the same code base. To help IT architects and developers gain insights on how to take advantage of WSO2’s lean middleware, WSO2 Co-founder and CTO Paul Fremantle will lead a free webinar entitled, “Understanding the WSO2 Platform and Technology.” The one-hour WSO2 technical webinar will run Monday, March 12, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. EST.

Understanding the WSO2 Platform and Technology
Starting with core OSGi runtime that powers the fully componentized WSO2 Carbon platform, Paul will delve into the key functionality for integration, governance, monitoring, process management, identity management, and the user experience. From here, the webinar will explore various cloud approaches and the characteristics of cloud-native software. Real use cases and case studies will be used to demonstrate why a lean open source approach to enterprise middleware and enterprise architecture is more effective, offers better value, and delivers a faster return on investment (ROI) to organizations. Webinar topics will include:
A review of the
WSO2 Carbon
enterprise middleware platform
An introduction to the
WSO2 Stratos
cloud middleware platform
WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) in action
Governance, monitoring, and identity management
API management
Future directions for WSO2 products, platforms and solutions
As WSO2’s co-founder and CTO, Paul Fremantle spearheads the company’s overall product strategy. Recognized by InfoWorld as a Top 25 CTO, Paul was responsible for simultaneously leading development of the groundbreaking WSO2 ESB and Apache Synapse ESB. Paul has played a pioneering role in open source development, beginning with the original Apache SOAP project where he donated code to enable access to Enterprise JavaBeans. Paul also led IBM's involvement in the Axis C/C++ project. He currently is co-chair of the OASIS Web Services Reliable eXchange Technical Committee, as well as vice president of the Apache Synapse Project.
