Mountain View, CA – June 7, 2010WSO2 announced today that it has been recognized as a 2010 SD Times 100 award winner in the SOA & Middleware category. SD Times identified WSO2 as one of the “top leaders and innovators” in the software industry, who have “demonstrated their ability to set the agenda and advance the state of the art.” This is the third year in a row that WSO2 has been named to the SD Times 100 list. WSO2 also was recognized as a winner in 2009 in the SOA & Middleware category and in 2008 in the Middleware category.

“We’re honored to be recognized for the third consecutive year as a leading provider of SOA and middleware solutions by SD Times, one of the world’s premier information sources for software development technology and best practices,” said Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana , founder and CEO of WSO2. “It is strong validation of the agility and value that our lean, highly flexible open source middleware brings to enterprise implementations on premise and in the cloud.”

The award-winning WSO2 Carbon is the industry’s first fully componentized middleware platform. Built on the OSGi specification, WSO2 Carbon enables developers to easily deploy and customize any of its ten WSO2 Carbon-based middleware products, providing greater flexibility and agility to meet changing enterprise demands. On June 3, 2010, WSO2 expanded its cloud capabilities with the debut of WSO2 Stratos , the first 100% open source cloud platform for enterprise applications. WSO2 Stratos, which is built on top of and extends WSO2 Carbon, offers organizations of all sizes a fully hosted application platform-as-a-service (PaaS).
