WSO2 Presents Cloud Summer School Class on Using a Framework to Evaluate Cloud Application Platforms

Free Webinar-Based Training on June 12, Reviews an Evaluation Framework, Competitive Scorecard, and Quick Start Roadmap to Help Select and Manage PaaS Offerings Palo Alto, CA – June 5, 2012 – A cloud-native application platform can transform an enterprise’s application development process and renew its application architecture. When delivered as a platform-as-a-service (PaaS), organizations can optimize automated governance, run-time service level management, DevOps agility, and iterative development. However, when choosing a cloud platform, IT professionals must carefully evaluate and select an appropriate PaaS offering that suits their needs. The first WSO2 Cloud Summer School class of 2012 will examine tools that IT professionals can use to define the goals, requirements, and use cases that describe how their new cloud application platform will improve software delivery. The interactive online class, “Framework for Selecting a Cloud Application Platform,” is being offered at no cost as a part of the WSO2 Cloud Summer School program. It will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Pacific. To participate, register at: The class will explore an evaluation framework, competitive scorecard, and quick start roadmap for evaluating and selecting a cloud application platform. Among aspects of the scorecard reviewed will be how it can be used to:

  • Build questions proposed in a request for proposal (RFP) document.
  • Generate use case scenarios.
The class also will present a comparison chart to visually illustrate vendor PaaS strengths and weaknesses.
