WSO2 Summer School Features Free Class on Optimizing SAP Integration Using WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus

Webinar-Based Training on June 22, 2011 Explores Different Integration Scenarios Using SAP Technologies and WSO2 ESB in Business and Enterprise Systems

Palo Alto, CA – June 15, 2011 - SAP business software drives many of the critical business processes in enterprises today: finance, human resources, and enterprise resource planning to name a few. However, integrating the proprietary SAP software with other systems in a service-oriented architecture (SOA) and customizing it to meet specific business models can be difficult and time-consuming. The WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus (WSO2 ESB) offers a flexible, open source and open standards-based approach to integrating existing SAP-based data, business processes, and analysis across heterogeneous networks. As a result, enterprises gain a new level of independence and agility in adapting their SAP systems to meet changing business needs.

IT architects and developers can learn how to optimize their SAP integration by attending the interactive online class, “Enterprise Integration with SAP and WSO2 ESB.” The two-hour session is being offered at no cost as a part of the WSO2 SOA Summer School program. It will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific. To participate, register at

The Enterprise Integration with SAP and WSO2 ESB class will:

  • Review available SAP technologies and how they relate to business and enterprise systems, identifying the SAP-based aspects of the WSO2 ESB.
  • Examine SAP Adapter components, including the SAP Intermediate Document (IDoc) message format, SAP Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) protocol, and the SAP Java Connector (JCo) library.
  • Explore SAP transport, configurations, service versioning, and business system connections.
  • Demonstrate how to mediate SAP messages through WSO2 ESB interactions.
  • Guide attendees through best practices using sample integration scenarios.

Leading the class are Kasun Indrasiri, WSO2 senior software engineer, and Udayanga Wickramasinghe, WSO2 software engineer. In addition to their track record in product innovation, Kasun and Udayanga both bring proven expertise in helping WSO2 enterprise customers to successfully implement their SOA and SAP-integration projects.
