Topics covered:

  • Managing Risk in the Enterprise

Risk is a sequence of actions that leads to a situation resulting in danger. Any enterprise needs to meet risk. There is no silver bullet to totally prevent risk. This session will cover best practices of identifying risk and steps to mitigate it.

  • Building a Governance Model

Developing the ideal governance model is a challenge to any modern business. We'll walk you through the process of defining a typical governance model using the WSO2 Carbon Platform.

  • Lifecycle Management

Be it service, be it policy or any type of artifact, a lifecycle of some sort is an inherent attribute of an enterprise asset that you'd be governing. We will use WSO2 Governance Registry and related tooling to build a prototype lifecycle model and walk you through the lifecycle management process.

  • SOA Centre of Excellence: British Airways

Governance plays an important part of the SOA strategy within British Airways. Darren Palmer will explain how they are implementing Governance and which role the WSO2 Governance Registry is playing as part of that.

  • Compliance and Audit

In this session, we will define a model of formal verification of and validation IT functionality. We will also discuss compliance, best practices, and industry trends such as the Jericho Forum.

  • Runtime Governance, SLA Management

A key component of Governance is managing the runtime infrastructure: ensuring that policies are maintained, reporting issues, monitoring KPIs, and meeting SLAs. In this session, we will explore how to create an environment for runtime governance that supports SLA management monitoring and monitoring and implementing policies at runtime.

  • Portability & interoperability

Portability & interoperability is a challenge enterprise integration teams and solution architects face on a daily basis. We will present how "governance done right" can address your portability and interoperability concerns.

  • A Hybrid Governance Model: On-premise + Cloud
