Much of the true value of the Internet of Things (IoT) is derived from the data that can be collected through such networks of devices. Thus, one of the most critical aspects of any IoT system is the science of receiving and capturing data, transmitting it to the cloud in real time, and using this data to make decisions (which may then be sent to devices 'at the edge' for implementation). In this session, Geesara will expand on this subject, discussing the value data brings to the domain of IoT, as well as the science of making intelligent decisions using this data. .

In his session Charitha will explore the WSO2 IoT Server and it offers a highly scalable architecture with the flexibility to add or subtract capabilities, as well as support the many varied requirements of the Internet-connected devices.
Prior to joining WSO2, he completed an internship at WSO2. His research interests are in the fields of high performance computing, computer vision and artificial intelligence. He holds a BSc in Computer Engineering from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. As part of his final year project he contributed towards implementing a parallel approach to independent component analysis for blind source separation in a brain computer interface. The research was conducted with the collaboration of Institute of Fundamental Studies, Kandy for their 'Brain Computer Interface' project.
Prior to joining WSO2, Charitha worked at Ensizon (Pvt.) Ltd. as a research and development engineer where he was responsible for embedded system development, IoT development and mobile application development.He has a Bachelor of Technology in Engineering (honors) first class degree from Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, The Open University of Sri Lanka. As part of his final year research project he developed an intelligent cloud monitoring and management system for dynamically expandable infrastructures.
