Paul Fremantle, CTO and Co-Founder of WSO2 will present a talk on the TransferSummit Conference.

Topic: "How to build innovation using the Open Source model"

Location: Keble College, University of Oxford.

Dates: 24 -25 June 2010.

Two days, Three tracks and a BarCamp...

In this conference, Paul Fremantle, entrepreneur and Apache Member, will talk about his experiences building a highly innovative team based on approaches from Open Source. He will focus on real-life examples from his open source start up, WSO2.

Also, Paul will talk about how to build and foster innovation and involvement by learning lessons from key Open Source projects, including the Apache Software Foundation and those at his startup, WSO2. In particular, Paul will tell the story of Carbon and Stratos, open source frameworks that have demonstrated strong innovation. In addition, he will discuss the dynamics of different open source communities and licenses and how they affect innovation.

TransferSummit provides a forum for business executives and members of the academic and research community to discuss requirements, challenges, and opportunities in the use, development, licensing, and future of Open Source technology.

TransferSummit is organised by OSS Watch in partnership with key individuals and organisations from the Open Source community, including the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) and University of Oxford.
