SOA really starts demonstrating its value when a business platform of reusable Web services emerges. Combining existing assets in new ways to enable new business processes accelerates the enterprise and contributes to the “innovation quotient” of the business. As these new applications emerge there is a need for higher level tools for defining and building new business logic, decision trees, and sophisticated orchestration. Orchestration technologies are adopted for many purposes, including:

Nuwan BandaraMilinda Pathirage

  • Composing services into new applications, products, and services
  • Executing business process spanning web services and human activities
  • Building advanced integration flows that orchestrate different applications in enterprises.

The Web Services Business Process Execution Language (WS-BPEL) is the predominant standard for defining orchestrations and business processes within the context of a Service-Oriented Architecture.

WSO2 has helped many customers with their orchestration needs with the WSO2 Business Process Server (WSO2 BPS), a WSO2 Carbon-based BPEL execution engine. The new WSO2 Carbon Studio (an Eclipse-based IDE) includes a built-in BPEL editor simplifying the modelling and deployment of BPEL processes in the WSO2 BPS.

Join Milinda Pathirage and Waruna Ransinghe on this one hour webinar as they take you through the following topics:

  • Introduction to orchestration techniques using BPEL
  • Introduction to WSO2 BPS
  • Modeling and deploying sample BPEL processes using Carbon Studio

Milinda is Product Manager and Technical Lead for the WSO2 Business Process Server and is an active committer to the Apache ODE, Apache Axis2/Java, Apache Axis2/C and Rampart/C projects of the Apache Software Foundation.

Waruna is a Senior Software Engineer on the WSO2 Business Process Server team.
