The Winners of WSO2 Certified Employee of the Year 2023

We are excited to highlight the top performers of WSO2's Certified Employee of the Year 2023 competition. This esteemed contest, now in its third year, was first launched in 2021 and continued in 2022. It aims to acknowledge and recognize the relentless dedication of our employees who have obtained the most number of certifications during 2023.

The Winner - Riyazath Ali

Riyazath emerged as the overall winner, boasting an impressive 13 certifications under his belt. His accomplishments include 1 expert, 6 developer, 1 sales professional, and 5 practitioner certifications.

Riyazath is a seasoned Senior Software Engineer at WSO2, with a wealth of experience spanning five years. He holds an MSc in Computer Science from the prestigious University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, specializing in software architecture and achieving an impressive 3.99 GPA.

Prior to joining WSO2, Riyazath dedicated four years to earning a BSc (Hons) in Information Technology from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka in 2014. With an unwavering passion for technology and innovation, Riyazath has played a pivotal role at WSO2, driving success in the Customer Success team.

1st Runner-Up - Shanaka Premarathna

Shanaka has accomplished an admirable feat of completing 11 certifications in the past year, comprising 6 developer and 5 practitioner certifications.

In his role as an Associate Technical Lead in WSO2's Customer Success Team, Shanaka has contributed over 5 years of invaluable service. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Currently, Shanaka is actively pursuing an MSc in Software Architecture at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.

2nd Runner Up - Janaka Pushpakumara

Janaka concluded 2023 on a high note, having earned an impressive total of 10 certifications, consisting of 6 developer and 4 practitioner certifications.

Janaka serves as an Associate Technical Lead in WSO2's Customer Success team and has been an integral part of the company since 2018. He holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and is currently pursuing his master's degree in Computer Science at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. In his leisure time, Janaka enjoys indulging in music, movies, and TV shows.
