Today, organizations rely on their enterprise software applications to carry out business functions more efficiently. However, a disconnected heap of independent software applications and services can cause more problems when integrating. In order to make the most of enterprise software deployments, they should be integrated to work together in perfect synchronicity. Although it seems simple, connecting different applications with their various programming languages, platforms, data formats, protocols, and QoS requirements can be quite a nightmare.

The WSO2 ESB, one of the fastest and best open source ESB implementations available, supports a range of communication protocols, message formats, and QoS standards. With its simple declarative configuration language, WSO2 ESB can be used to solve practically any SOA integration problem or implement any known enterprise integration pattern without having to write a single line of code.

Malaka Silva, senior technical lead, and Dushan Abeyruwan, associate technical lead at WSO2, will discuss the basic concepts and common challenges associated with enterprise integration. They will also introduce the WSO2 integration platform, its core capabilities, and why every integration architect should consider the WSO2 integration platform as their prime choice of middleware for SOA integration. The session will conclude with a demo on how WSO2 products could be configured to support sample integration scenarios.

Topics covered include

  • SOA and the role of ESBs
  • High level architecture of WSO2 ESB
  • WSO2 ESB’s features and applicability
  • Benefits of using an ESB
  • Scenarios
    • Guaranteed delivery with WSO2 ESB, WSO2 Data Services Server and WSO2 Message Broker
    • Soap to REST transformation using WSO2 ESB and WSO2 Application Server
    • Calling cloud services using WSO2 ESB connectors
