, the lean enterprise middleware company, today announced that it has been cited by Forrester Research, Inc., as a leader in The Forrester Wave: API Management Platforms, Q1, 2013 report1 published February 5, 2013. The report’s findings were based on a 15-criteria evaluation of commercial and open source vendors that deliver products for the emerging API management platforms market, including API consumer experience, integration capabilities with various back-end and third-party systems, analytics and monitoring features. The Forrester Report2 observes, “Why would any organization willingly risk exposing its most precious data assets to external eyes over the Web? Because … Exposing interfaces to unique corporate data creates value that many companies have difficulty unlocking on their own … Remixing data from multiple sources is emerging as a hot new business model, and an increasing number of traditional firms are looking to join this emerging ‘API economy’.”
Report’s Evaluation of WSO2 API Manager
The evaluation of WSO2 was based on WSO2 API Manager 1.0.0
, which launched in August 2012. Out of a possible 5.00 points, WSO2 scored 4.10 points for strategy, as well as 3.15 points for current offering.
