Akini Karunarathne

Akini is a Senior Systems Engineer based in our office in Colombo.

Before she joined WSO2, Akini worked as an Infrastructure and Platforms Engineer at Millennium IT ESP. She was responsible for setting up and maintaining infrastructure and systems on premise and on cloud for different enterprise customers. She has hands-on experience working on bare metal servers, virtual machines in VMware environments or cloud, and in setting up and maintaining Kubernetes environments. Prior to that, she worked as an Engineering Intern at MAS Holdings, Pallekalle.

Akini has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka, where she received the gold medal awarded by the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies for outstanding performance in academics and practical application of skills.

She has been awarded university and school colours awards for table tennis and she continues her table tennis career in mercantile events.

Akini enjoys playing table tennis and just watching any sport in general. She is a friendly and outgoing person who likes hanging out with friends.
