Derric Gilling

Derric Gilling is a Vice President/General Manager, APIM at WSO2 and the CEO of Moesif, an independent subsidiary specializing in API analytics and monetization. He leads Moesif’s mission to help companies understand and optimize API usage, drive growth, and build successful API-first businesses. Derric is based in San Francisco, California.

Before co-founding Moesif and joining WSO2, Derric worked as a computer architect at Intel. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Michigan.

A frequent speaker on API strategy, API analytics, and usage-based billing, Derric has presented at leading developer conferences including API World, DeveloperWeek, Collision, and APIDays. He is also the author of API Strategy for Decision Makers, published by O’Reilly, which focuses on customer observability.

Derric enjoys collaborating with both startups and large enterprises on API-first strategies.

Outside of work, he likes board games, running, sci-fi movies, and traveling with friends.
