Didula Samaraweera

Didula is a Research Engineer working on AI research at our Colombo office.

Before joining WSO2, Didula worked as a Machine Learning Engineer – Intern at Fcode Labs, where he was responsible for integrating advanced ML modules—such as PII removal, text summarization, and emotion analysis—into a production healthcare application called Progress Magic. He also designed a novel method for automatic PII removal directly from audio data.

Didula holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Hons.) in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.

He has published research on Vision-Language Models and Spoken Language Understanding, and ranked 6th globally at the IEEE SPS VIP Cup 2023.

Outside of work, Didula enjoys playing badminton and swimming, and often practices meditation and hiking to stay active and balanced.
