Gigara Hettige

Gigara is an Associate Technical Lead working on Ballerina team and based in our office in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Before he joined WSO2, Gigara worked as an intern in WSO2 where he was responsible for several projects in WSO2 Ballerina team. He was responsible for Ballerina Linter, Ballerina Formatter, and handled security issues in the Ballerina playground.

Gigara has a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from the University of Westminster,UK. As part of his final year research project, he developed a tribrid ransomware detection system using machine learning. Moreover, he follows his passion in cyber security with Cisco cyber security certification. His journey as a software developer started from school as the president of ICT club of Rahula College Matara and achieving 2nd runner up in southern province new inventions competition.

Gigara enjoys movie production, traveling, and he follows his interest in art with Sangeet Visharad in Bathcande, Lucknow.
