Piumal Rathnayake

Piumal is a Software Engineer based in our office in Colombo.

Before joining WSO2, Piumal interned as a Research Assistant at Singapore University of Technology and Design, where he worked on a project focusing on applying machine learning with swarm robotics. As an open source enthusiast, he has collaborated with several open source organizations, gaining experience in full-stack development, DevOps, and QA. Piumal participated in the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) twice as a student contributor and now serves voluntarily as a GSoC mentor and Organization Admin at OpenMRS.

Piumal has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.

In his free time, Piumal enjoys reading, watching movies, playing video games, and traveling.
