Rafael Granados

Rafa is a Vice President and Field CTO - EU based in Barcelona, Spain.

Before he joined WSO2, Rafa worked as Head of the API Team in the Engineering Unit at Inditex (Zara). He was responsible for leading the API strategy and governance across multiple business units; defining and implementing API best practices to ensure security, scalability, and performance; and ensuring operational excellence during peak demand periods.

Previously, he worked at CaixaBank Tech as a Project Manager for the API Team, focusing on API development and management.

Rafa studied at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), Spain. In 2025, he was awarded the Microsoft MVP in Developer Technologies, recognizing his contributions to the developer community. In 2023, he was recognized as an API Expert in Spain by the APIAddicts Foundation, honoring his influence and thought leadership in the API industry.

Rafa enjoys programming retro computers (Z80) in his free time. He is also an active participant in podcasts about Apple and APIs, where he shares insights on technology, software development, and the evolving API ecosystem.
