Samindu Cooray

Samindu is a Software Engineer based in our Colombo office.

Before joining WSO2, he worked as a Research Intern at the CloudNet Research Group at the University of Colombo School of Computing. There, he was responsible for upgrading customized QEMU source code to a stable new version, developing automation scripts for experiment execution, and collaborating on research projects with the team.

Samindu holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Colombo School of Computing, Sri Lanka.

He was awarded the Young Outstanding Researcher Award at the I am a Researcher competition during the 24th ICTer International Conference and has been included multiple times on the Director’s List for academic excellence. In 2024, he co-authored a publication titled "Virtual Machine Proactive Fault Tolerance using Log-based Anomaly Detection," published in IEEE Access.

Outside of work, Samindu enjoys music, PC gaming, watching movies, TV series, and anime, as well as participating in outdoor sports.
