About the Role
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at WSO2, you will be a strategic engine behind our pipeline generation. You aren't just the first point of contact - you are a consultant who identifies high-value enterprise pain points and maps them to WSO2’s solutions. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with excellent communication skills, intellectual curiosity, resilience, and a strong desire to learn and grow in a technology sales career. Working closely with Account Managers, Marketing and Sales leadership, you will be responsible for researching target accounts, engaging key decision-makers, and generating qualified opportunities that contribute directly to pipeline and revenue growth. Through a combination of outbound outreach, account-based prospecting, and strategic relationship building, you will help expand WSO2's presence within some of the world's most recognized enterprises.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of our products, value proposition, and target industries.
- Research target accounts and identify key decision-makers.
- Conduct outbound prospecting through email, phone calls, LinkedIn, and other channels.
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads against predefined criteria.
- Schedule meetings and discovery calls for Account Managers.
- Maintain accurate prospect and activity records in Salesforce and other sales tools.
- Follow up consistently with prospects through structured outreach campaigns.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Sales teams on campaign execution and lead management.
- Regularly assess outreach strategies and tactics, using real-time performance metrics to optimize your approach, maximize lead conversion rates, and contribute to the overall success of the sales team.
Qualifications, Skills and Relevant Experience
- Recent graduate in Business, Marketing, Communications, IT, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Resilience and grit: A self-starter who views "no" as a request for more information and thrives in a fast-paced, autonomous environment.
- Comfortable engaging with professionals across different regions and cultures.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and target-driven environment.
Good to have
- Previous internship experience in sales, marketing, customer service, or business development.
- Interest/curiosity for enterprise software, cloud technologies, APIs, or digital transformation.
- Experience participating in university clubs, leadership programs, or extracurricular activities - Public speaking activities such as debates, extempore competitions, Model United Nations (MUNs), improvisation (improv) clubs, or similar communication-focused programs.
- Growth mindset, curiosity and willingness to take initiative beyond academic requirements.
