File processing is used in almost every enterprise IT system at different scales and across different domains. It spans across domains such as processing log files, audit files, data files, and binary files. Ballerina is designed for integration and it comes with a set of core features to implement different file handling use cases. Websockets is the new standard in delivering high quality, high demand web pages to the client with minimum latency. It has the capacity to handle the requirements of a modern-day consumer. Ballerina comes with a set of features to support Websocket client and server interactions. In this session, we will discuss the following:

  • Handling files in local file system with Ballerina File I/O
  • Handling files in remote systems like FTP with Ballerina File Connector
  • Dealing with Websocket client applications
  • Connecting with Websocket server applications

Chanaka Fernando Senior Lead - Solutions Engineer, WSO2

Chanaka was leading the WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus product before he joined the Ballerina team where he contributes to the development of the core runtime features. With more than 9 years of industry experience in different domains like telecommunications, embedded systems, mobile application development, SOA and MSA, he continues to contribute to the development of products at WSO2. He has been engaged with several customers related to banking, insurance, retail, education, and hospitality, among others. He has also authored several articles/blog posts about the WSO2 platform’s capabilities as well as SOA and MSA.
