To do this, regardless of whether the company is a digital platform startup, a 100 year old bank or a manufacturing firm with a factory floor, all companies need to treat themselves as software companies with internal centers of excellence to be able to rapidly build and release components to help their business.
The platform business model is key in bringing together the power of the community to sustain and grow a business and the ability to expose key assets to either internal or external stakeholders as APIs. APIs then become the encapsulation of a company's intellectual property. It is vital that organizations treat an API strategy similar to a business strategy and tie that into their vision..
This session focuses on how an organization would work on a successful API strategy that aligns with the business vision. We will use best practices and case studies from WSO2 deployments as well as public case studies in this interactive session.
Presenter
Mifan has extensive experience in SOA and industry specific solution architectures and specializes in spatial architectures and GIS, eGovernment cloud, emergency management, and big data analytics. In his role, he works closely with customers liaising with WSO2 Engineering and Sales teams to analyze and define domain specific solution architectures in client domains. He is also a lead architect for many global projects, including the national initiative to build a cloud-based SOA platform for local government bodies in Sri Lanka.
