Future of Humanity

Our world seems to be drowning in bad news: wars, tariffs, climate change. Pessimism is conquering our zeitgeist, especially in the Western world. And there are structural forces driving some of this pessimism: the relative decline of the West, the US-China geopolitical contest, and climate change. Yet, the forces generating optimism and hopes for a better future are even larger: the renaissance of Asian civilisations, the growing demand for multilateralism, and the rising consensus, especially among the young, that the time has come for humanity to come together to deal with common global challenges, like climate change. In short, there are many reasons for hope.
