Consent management and data privacy are fast becoming major design considerations for public healthcare APIs. Healthcare Consent management refers to the practice of prompting, collecting, and managing patient/consumer approval for the collection and sharing of their Individually Identifiable Health Information (IIHI) with the context of purpose of use. While CMS Interoperability & Patient Access Rule streamlines the requirements of patient consent management, having a comprehensive consent management capability will define the success of the interoperability of your solution.

The WSO2 Open Healthcare platform provides these requirements with a comprehensive consent management feature offering in addition to the CIAM capabilities provided by the WSO2 Identity Server. Consent management feature entails following flows:

  • Consent Administration: WSO2 Open Healthcare admin portal provides capability to easily define consent policies based on organizational needs.
  • Consent Requisition : WSO2 Open Healthcare platform is equipped with a developer portal for app developers to assign the consent policies to the applications
  • Consent Collection Patients / Members can provide consents during the application login flow or using WSO2 user self-care portal.
  • Consent Enforcement : WSO2 Open Healthcare platform evaluates the given consents and filters out the patient data that needs to be shared with the third party application.

By attending this webinar, you will be able to gain knowledge on privacy consent requirements defined by the CMS Interoperability & Patient Access Rule and how the WSO2 Open Healthcare Consent Management feature provides first hand support on implementing patient consent management.
