HTTP-Based Email Publishing Support for Asgardeo
Asgardeo now supports HTTP-based email publishing as an alternative to SMTP-based email delivery, giving organizations greater flexibility in how transactional emails are dispatched from Asgardeo.
Previously, the email provider configuration in Asgardeo was limited to SMTP-based providers, such as Gmail and Microsoft 365 Exchange Online. This forced organizations operating behind enterprise email gateways, internal email middleware, or HTTP-only email APIs to either expose SMTP infrastructure or build custom workarounds to route Asgardeo notifications through their preferred delivery channel.
With this enhancement, administrators can configure a custom HTTP endpoint as the email provider, allowing Asgardeo to publish email events as outbound HTTP requests instead of opening an SMTP connection.
Administrators can configure HTTP-based email publishing through the Asgardeo Console by navigating to Notification Channels > Email Provider and selecting the HTTP-based provider option. This gives organizations the freedom to plug Asgardeo email notifications into their existing email delivery infrastructure without being constrained to SMTP.
