Devaka counts more than 15 years of experience in the enterprise middleware software space, focusing on sales strategy and managing global customer portfolios across multiple sectors such as financial, telco, and government.
He has deep expertise working with independent software developers (ISVs) and has played a pivotal role in building strategic partnerships with large system integrators.
Prior to joining WSO2 as the first sales executive, he spent three years at Virtusa Corporation (NASDAQ GS: VRTU) as a business analyst in the research and development division, focusing on integration middleware and open source technologies. He was also involved in analyst research with Gartner in web services technologies and the open source software space.
In his current role, Devaka is responsible for expanding the adoption of WSO2’s award-winning enterprise middleware and cloud platforms by Global 100 companies worldwide. He currently leads all revenue generating functions at WSO2, including heading global sales across North America, Latin America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific. Since joining WSO2 in November 2006, Devaka has served as director of business development, director of sales, vice president of sales, and now chief revenue officer.
He is a professional graduate of the British Computer Society UK, and has an MBA from University of NorthWest, USA.
Devaka is a dog lover and enjoys adventurous explorations to exotic locations—whether it might be to scout out a potential business deal or just experiment with different cultures and cuisines.
