WSO2 Expands Regional Asia Pacific Presence

Today, we're excited to celebrate the incorporation of WSO2 in Malaysia. The country is key to our international reach and we're here as a result of our continuous growth and development over the past 17 years. You can now create awesome digital experiences quickly, easily, and securely — all with our foundational technologies for cloud native enterprise applications.

China, India, and Singapore were the cornerstones of the plan when WSO2 first focused its attention on the APAC region. Our entry to Malaysia through a partner, saw us onboard Telekom Malaysia, one of the country's largest carriers. Since we first entered the Malaysian market in 2016, we’ve partnered with several large customers and increased our business portfolio. Our Malaysia-based clients value our presence to accelerate their digital efforts and deliver enhanced digital experiences.

In essence, the incorporation of WSO2 is our first step toward a long-term commitment to Malaysia, and it will assist Malaysia-based companies in advancing their digital transformation strategies.

Our current base of customers includes Telekom Malaysia, Telekom Research and Development Sdn.Bhd. (TM R&D) and Berjaya Sompo. We’ve further partnered with Vision Technology Consulting (VTC), KGiSL, and CGI as a result of our strong focus on partner relations.

While we focused on expanding our footprint, last year we had an in-person event about how APIs accelerate digital adoption and we have a stellar line-up of more events to assist Malaysian-based companies. 

Meet the Team

This new incorporation is a strong step towards helping Malaysia-based companies to develop, deploy, run, and manage APIs, services, integrations, and identities to deliver secure solutions fast.

WSO2 experienced additional gains in 2022, including:

  • Double-digit growth in annual recurring revenue (ARR) across the company’s business units
  • Extension of our partner network to over 200 across the Americas; Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA); and Asia-Pacific
  • Expansion of WSO2’s global team to 900-plus employees
  • Global recognition in analyst reports from Gartner, G2, and KuppingerCole, among others 
  • And the incorporation of our new office in Singapore 

In spite of currency devaluations and global market volatility, by the end of 2022, we anticipate our annual recurring revenue (ARR) to increase by about 30% YoY and our net dollar retention (NDR) to remain over 110%. 

WSO2 has always held the view that a company's digital transformation is a difficult process that calls for a range of solutions. And we take pride in offering a wide variety of services under one roof to assist our clients in resolving their business challenges.

Many organizations have accelerated their digital transformation initiatives to enable online communications, collaboration, and commerce, reducing project schedules from years to months or weeks.
