Seshika Fernando
Seshika helps financial institutions worldwide optimize and accelerate their digital initiatives. With her deep understanding of the application of technology in the financial sector, she provides guidance and expertise to financial institutions, working closely with governments, regulatory bodies and standards organizations across the globe.
Seshika is recognized as an industry thought leader in the financial technology domain. She speaks frequently at international technology conferences, where she often shares insights on various topics such as open banking, security and privacy, digital identity, data science, and digital transformation.
She holds a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and an MSc in Finance from the London School of Economics, UK. She is a British Chevening Scholar and holds a national patent for her invention, the Trusted Cheque Protocol, which received the Presidential Award for Best National Invention in Public Welfare in 2009.
Seshika actively advocates for women in STEM fields, working to promote gender equality and inclusivity.
Outside of work, her personal life thrives on the simpler joys of reading, calligraphy, off-road cycling, and the pure fun of dancing in the rain and jumping in muddy puddles with her kids.
